Nordborg Resort by Center Parcs is designed to be a magical retreat where guests can disconnect and immerse themselves in a world of natural beauty and wonder. Kelight was brought in by Creative Director Michel Linet-Frion to develop a lighting concept that would enhance this vision, creating a visual experience where visitors could fully immerse themselves in the enchanting environment. Our task: to design a lighting experience that would bring out the magic of the resort, providing a seamless blend of aesthetics, functionality, and storytelling.
The Challenge
The challenge for Kelight was to create lighting that not only complemented the natural beauty of Nordborg Resort but also enhanced the magical, immersive atmosphere that Center Parcs envisioned. The resort’s vast outdoor spaces and diverse environments required a lighting design that could adapt to different moods and areas. Additionally, we needed to present concepts in a way that would convince developers of the value scenic lighting adds to the overall guest experience, despite the usual difficulty of translating such visions through sketches and drawings alone.
The Solution
Working closely with Michel, Kelight created illuminated visualizations that brought Michel's concepts to life. We were able to showcase how the lighting would transform the resort’s landscapes, making it easier for developers to see the full potential. The custom lighting solutions were designed to seamlessly integrate into the natural surroundings, with energy-efficient fixtures that could adapt to the various environments of the resort. From soft, ambient lighting along pathways to dynamic illumination for key attractions, every element was carefully crafted to enhance the magical experience for guests.
The Result
The result was a stunning visual transformation that exceeded expectations. As Michel noted, "Working on concepts with Kevin and Kelight has been a great experience. Their ability to visualize and render what lighting can bring to a project is incredibly valuable, especially when convincing developers to invest in scenic lighting." The immersive lighting solutions not only met the resort’s aesthetic goals but also contributed to creating an unforgettable atmosphere for guests, allowing them to fully escape into the magical world of Nordborg Resort.
