Partnering with Holovis, Kelight crafted a lighting design that elevates the Flying Theatre experience, immersing guests in a breathtaking journey through dynamic landscapes. From the moment they step into the queue, the lighting sets the tone for an unforgettable adventure. A Flying Theatre is a type of theme park attraction that simulates the sensation of flying, offering guests an immersive experience where they feel as if they are soaring through various landscapes or environments. In a Flying Theatre, riders are seated in a moving platform that is often suspended in front of a large, curved screen. The platform tilts, sways, and moves in synchronization with the on-screen visuals, while other sensory effects like wind, mist, scents, and sound enhance the experience. The combination of motion, visuals, and special effects creates a thrilling, immersive journey, making guests feel as though they are flying through the scenes depicted on the screen.
The Challenge
Designing lighting for a Flying Theatre meant ensuring every moment was enhanced, from pre-show ambiance to the main event. The lighting had to seamlessly integrate with the movement, visuals, and sound, creating a fully immersive experience. The challenge was to deliver a lighting system that not only heightened the emotional journey but adapted to the ride’s complex technical demands.
